Edward Galijants: I do not know how to live, without playing (№6 (18) from January, 20th, 2009)

Very few people from the modern sportsmen-billiard-players regularly participating in tournaments, can brag of such game experience, as Edward Galijants. It has spent at a billiard table neither much nor a little – 33 years. Having started to play far 1974, Edward has passed through all stages of development of billiard sports: both through persecutions, and through revival and official a prize-nanie, and through changes of rules and regulations. Has passed, and remained it is true to the biggest in a life to hobby – to billiards.

Edward, today you – one of the most age players which participate in tournaments. Tell, what for it is necessary to you, why you do it?

– Because I play billiards 33 years. I very much love it, I love the work. While I feel in myself forces that I can struggle as equals with such strong contenders, with youth while I take pleasure in game, I and am engaged in it. I at all do not know, how it – not to play.

– Many your coevals remained in game sphere, and too take pleasure, and even any material benefits from it. You have come to sports.

– Each person puts before itself any purposes which wishes to reach. To win the European championship, the world and so on. And I have any purposes, I go to them. In it I take pleasure. I with the great pleasure leave on these tournaments, I look younger from dialogue with friends. Today I have met the person who did not see 15 years, represent? He lives in Germany, such pleasant meeting was. I like these trips.

– On tournaments you should battle to much younger contenders. Is not insulting to lose to those who to you in syno - вья suits?

– To lose always it is unpleasant, to not important, young or old contender. It would be desirable to win always, especially when you feel in the good form. But it is already normal to loss I concern, strongly I do not worry, not rasstrai - ваюсь. I try to analyse and quickly to forget.

– How you have come to billiards?

Is was very much for a long time, in a city of Baku. To me it was at that point in time executed 9 and a half years, and the brother has called me in a billiard room. Then I on spheres could not get at all, and it scoffed over me, on seven spheres of odds gave. But потихонечку in me the sports rage has woken up, I have started to be engaged and have little by little caught up with it. We in day played on hundred-hundred fifty parties! In the American, happened, party finished for 35 seconds. Such sensation that at me is an original record. We with the brother in an hour have played 19 parties, I have won with the account 10:9. For the speed, directly in a forehead broke, and further. Whom asked, to whom talked, anybody even close could not approach to such result. It was in the seventieth year, it seems. This record is not beaten till now. Here so I have joined billiards, till now it I love, I train much itself, children I train. It is my life.

– Your hobby for billiards did not affect study?

– No, I well studied! Besides, played football perfectly, professionally it was engaged, has earned a rank of the master of sports when together with a command of KanAz became the champion of Armenia. Billiards to me did not disturb absolutely, I played only at leisure. I not professionally was engaged at that time, it was a hobby. I adore table tennis, football and billiards.

– Where you now live?

– Now I have moved in New Urengoj, and the matter is that besides billiards. In due time I have got acquainted with Alexander Platonovym, the general director «the North - подводтрубопроводстрой», which itself is very much the great admirer of game. He also has suggested me to create children's billiard school in New Urengoe. This idea was supported also by mayor Victor Kazarin. So in Yamal-Nenets autonomous region in 2003 there was a first billiard school which I and head as the director. Now at me there are engaged more than 130 children.

– You by training the teacher or through sports have come to work with children?

– No, I not the teacher, I have ended food institute. But on a speciality it was not necessary to work. I have found calling in billiards, in Moscow worked in ДЮСШ an Olympic reserve in 98-99th years. Experience at me was, I one of the first who in general in Russia has started to teach billiards to children. I like to be engaged with children, and it helps with work with them. I am assured that if you do not love children, it is not necessary to be the trainer, and if love, all will turn out, will always find proper words and the approach to each child.

– At you a comprehensive school?

– Yes, certainly. Already 4 and a half a year I there work, and have never regretted that has left Moscow for the sake of New Urengoja. At us at school the finest conditions for children are created. Even the bus carries children after training on houses, I think, such anywhere is not present in the world.

– On tournaments already happened to the wards?

– While only two or three times I took out them, the boy one at me in the championship of Russia among young men has got to 16 strongest. I was very happy. My children are engaged most less, less than others train. At us at school the rate on mass character becomes, I think, anywhere there are no more than 130 children on billiards branch. And it is impossible so that to remain with us and dopol - нительно to work with that who talented. They play all an hour and a half, not including theoretical employment. All the same practice above all, it is necessary to become skilled, but we do not have such possibility. The base yet does not allow. Many wish to remain and be engaged, but there is no possibility because following groups come, it is necessary to release tables. I know children who are engaged for 8 hours per day, and my boys in a week of 5 hours only. Naturally, results at us are worse.

– You have any selection for receipt in school?

– I take all interested persons. There are children who cannot be engaged in heavy kinds of sports, I all of them take, even at whom sight bad. By the way, there at all with zreni - I eat problems because there is no sun. I take all children, let they are engaged, filed. There is a child the good player or not, it, by and large, not important, the main thing that he has learnt to work over itself(himself). To learn to work – in it my problem just and consists.

– How the wife concerns your constant travelling?

– The wife has already got used. When we with it have decided to get married, she already knew that at me a life such, is constant in travelling, therefore it normally concerns. Svetlana always in a course of events, in a course of all results, all players knows.

– How you can characterise the style of game?

– I different, but like to attack more. Though, of course, looking even in what game you play. Here in Moscow tactics, for example, is necessary, there on one attack far will not leave … More often I am arranged under the contender, I know all players, in conformity under them and I select tactics.

– And there are at you the most remembered matches?

– A lot of such, both tragical, and successful. Here I played a cup of the Ministry of Defence with the Ukrainian player, and there was such situation: I conduct three-two on parties and in party I conduct six-two. The person beats simply from a dive, "fool", with an exit falls, it hammers in the last, and finishes party "fool". Three-three. It puts a pyramid, breaks, "fool" in a corner again falls, and it finishes. I even have not approached to a table in party, on me in general depended nothing. There I also was fidgety …

– Who for you the most inconvenient contender?

– There was Evgenie Stalev earlier, I always lost to it. Now, perhaps, Alexander Palamar. With the others I play normally, easy.

– How you think, how many years still will stay in billiards?

– It nobody knows. Me, to - нечно, it is already possible to rank as operating players-veterans, but I feel perfectly, I in the good sports form, am engaged, train, health I support. I think that I will play still.
