Cup "Start": the unexpected superending (№6 (18) from January, 20th, 2009)

Within all 2007 billiard-players of northern capital – both men, and women – struggled for the right to possess a cup of St.-Petersburg. As the organizer of this large-scale billiard marathon the Federation billiards - ного sports of St.-Petersburg has acted, having got of support of Factory "Start" which has taken part in carrying out of tournament as the general partner. Sportsmen should show the skill in three kinds of a pyramid: games have been distributed on 6 stages. The strongest left in the superending.

The man's ending has not been noted by special intrigues. From the very beginning in obvious favourites the master of sports Alexey Deniss has got. It has excellent proved to be at preliminary stages and has victoriously finished tournament. Easily cleaning contenders, Alexey has reached a final duel. The meeting with Alec - сандром Pakom has come to the end with the account 6:5 in favour of Denisov. 

Alexey Deniss:

– For me this victory is very important, – the winner has shared the impressions. – this year at me has turned out crumpled, I had to be sprayed both for study, and for work. Because of all these circumstances trained a little, sharply and unsuccessfully acted in tournaments. I hope that now all will be settled. It was pleasant to play the ending on an excellent table of Factory "Start". It is a pity that only the ending. Here if all tournament to play such fine table also game would be absolutely another.

Unlike the man's tournament which outcome was natural, female, on the contrary, developed under laws of a detective genre. Arina Nekrasov (which, by the way, has more recently moved to Petersburg from Irkutsk) has created sensation at the Cup final stage, confidently having taken hold of the first place. However to the superending it did not have not enough only 25 points. But nevertheless the girl has appeared among its participants. To it has carried – on tournament was not the master of sports of the international class, the champion of Russia Xenia Kislova. It having appeared in the superending at will of a happy occurence, Arina has simply excellent held all meetings, without quailing at all before more skilled and titled competitors. Having beaten in the ending of the master of sports to Evgenie Romodinu with the account 5:4, Nekrasov's first-rank woman became the owner of a prestigious prize – a cup of St.-Petersburg.

Arina Nekrasov:

– I am very glad to the unusual victory, – Arina, – extracted such "by unfair means" ("fool" has appeared a victorious sphere of the sportswoman) has told. Conditions for game in the ending have appeared difficult – was cold, light was some times cut down, from the next hall noise reached – there competed кикбоксеры. But nevertheless these lacks were brightened up by game on pre - a red table of Factory "Start" on which took place a final. The table very much was pleasant to me. In general it is pleasant, when games are spent on the tables made by this known firm. It stimulates, it would be desirable to show good game. – As a whole I am happy with tournament results. All strongest billiard-players of a city and area participated in it almost. Struggle was fair, at times uncompromising, we have seen quite good game, good combinations. From its part we have made everything that stages of the Cup and the superending have passed at high level. But, unfortunately, not all depended on us. Afflicted that at Cup stages there were few spectators because they passed at times at week-days in the afternoon. However, the superending has collected true fans of game, and it is pleasant.

We managed to allocate this tournament among a great number of faceless actions which pass presently. Unfortunately, the federation of billiard sports of Petersburg has not made everything that could make in the organizational plan at carrying out of the Open cup, but cooperation with federation will be continued.

In our plans for 2009 participation in carrying out of tournament of other scale and with probably big prize fund. To increase it, I hope, we will be helped by our partner – the VIP-club "Bend". In this tournament participation of all leading players of Northwest federal district is planned. It will be a so-called cup of a call with participation of 8 strongest men and 8 strongest women. Tournament refereeing will be carried out by the chairman of the All-Russia board of judges Alexander Kokunin. I hope that will shine our tournament, as always, magazines «Billiard world», «Drive a sphere!» And TV.
