The World championship on "the Free pyramid": a holiday it has not turned out (№6 (18) from January, 20th, 2009)

For the World championship on «the Free pyramid» which traditionally passes in the end of the year, always wait both sportsmen and fans. Despite the fact that what in billiard sports appears recently more and more the every possible championships and world cups, final tournament while remains the most important and prestigious championship, the loudest title of year is here again played. And somehow so it is expected that tournament it will be not simple competition, but the present holiday of billiards. But, as it has appeared, expectations justify not always. In 2007 honour to receive the World championship on «the Free pyramid» has dropped out the Ukrainian federation of billiard sports. In a sports hall of National university of physical training and sports of Ukraine have established 13 tables, on eight of which played the men, four have occupied women, and one was empty in expectation of the ending.

In a hall where have established tables, was so coldly that sportsmen between blows put on gloves what somehow to warm hands. Besides light exposure left much to be desired. Game tables in general were not highlighted in any way, illumination of a sports hall worked only. In the afternoon, at a sunlight was still there-here. But in November days short and at the fifth o'clock p.m. behind a window darkened and in a hall it became absolutely uncomfortable.

Is unpleasant-bluish light of lamps of day illumination fell on green cloth of tables and so tired eyes, what even at me, the simple observer, the head started to be ill. And sportsmen had also to play. Certainly, it is possible to object that the good player shows a class under any conditions. But after all in the World championship on swimming, for example, nobody starts people in water in temperature of 5 degrees … Or cross-countries are not spent at a heavy wind … Or the World championship on football do not play in the field in potholes and ruts … Why tournament of the international level on billiards was spent in абы what conditions, and it have considered normal? After all sight for the billiard-player – the integral game element, as well as the muscles which have been not held down by a cold. Yes, more untwisted kinds of sports, than billiards, it is other money. But nevertheless organizers of tournaments would like to remind a good Russian proverb: was called as a milk mushroom – полезай in a body.

That else surprised in the World championship, so this absence on tournament of the president of the International committee on Igor Barskova's pyramid. Usually it necessarily is present on large prestigious actions, but this time has for some reason arrived differently.

Play all?

The structure of participants of the championship was though is strong, but is not especially great. At men on tournament 57 sportsmen have been declared, but the command of Germany as a part of two persons and could not take off for Kiev, therefore actually on games left 55 bi-ljardistov. Basically on tournament players from the countries once making the USSR have been presented, the command of Finland, whose participation in became an exception only chempio - натах on Russian billiards already in anybody does not cause surprise, as well as increasing skill of game. The lot has placed strong sportsmen so that in the first circle they have not met with each other and all have passed in the top grid, thereby giving hope to spectators on a considerable quantity of beautiful matches.

24 women from 11 countries have decided to contend for the right to possess a title of the world champion. The tournament intrigue consisted that this year double world champion Anna Mazhirina whom, having achieved everything did not participate in it that only is possible, in Russian billiards, has passed in снукер and directs to its all efforts. Anna's absence gave good chance of a victory to girls who any more are content the first year with the second positions, – Elena Bunos, Anastasii Luppovoj, Jeanne Shmatchenko and Alena Rusakovoj.

Among women there was also a sportswoman from the most exotic country of tournament – Jan the Tub from Vietnam. However, actually she lives the most part of the life in Ukraine, but has the Vietnamese citizenship and honour of the country defended quite lawfully. Among sportswomen of Jan differed not only a nationality, but also tiny growth, the table was to the girl exactly on a belt. Here that she has told to the representative of magazine "БМ":

– I was born in Vietnam, but have left therefrom when I was 9 years old. At me in the homeland play карамболь and the pool, 9 spheres is very popular. Russian billiards for Vietnameses is an exotic. I dream to bring Russian billiards to Vietnam, Vietnameses would be very glad. There all take a great interest in billiards, especially youth, and Russian billiards very interesting game. I think, if they have learnt it, only in it and played. Certainly, with my growth very hard at a table, I do not play half of spheres, I play only those spheres which I get. But I do not throw, because very much I love billiards.

Russians

Two years on end Russians did not allow to anybody to rise on the top step of a pedestal. This year they too have placed the serious order for leadership in the man's championship, having exposed a command as a part of two world champions – Jury Pashchinskogo and Pavel Mehovova, twice bron - зового the prize-winner of the World championships Edward Galijantsa and perspective, promising players – Pavel Kuzmin, Daniel Bogushevskogo and Andrey Frejze. It was impossible to name Any of them the player through passage, and the Russian fans hoped that children will show worthy game. However Daniel Bogushevsky has left a battlefield already after the first circle of selection games, having lost two matches successively. Bogushevsky – unique of all sportsmen, playing points, and already after warm-up he has told in a lobby that in this light simply sees nothing on a table. Undoubtedly, this sportsman in other game conditions could become one of leaders чемнионата, but here it was powerless.

Other Russians managed to leave in плейофф, the truth, to Pavel Mehovovu was necessary to make the way there from the bottom grid after loss to young and talented Byelorussian Oleg Retsichu. Therefrom went to олимпийке and Andrey Frejze who has conceded to Paate Hmaladze. Pavel Mehovov, Edward Galijants and Jury Pashchinsky have passed selection round without defeats.

To Edward Galijantsu, one of the most age players of tournament, it was not possible to pass 1/16 endings. It has conceded Kanybeku Sagynbaevu and left struggle. In the same round Jury Pashchinsky practically without straining has sent on spectator tribunes of Akshina Aleskerova, Pavel Mehovov has gained the next victory over Evgenie Kurtoj, and Pavel Kuzmin has won against Igor Litovchenko. It would seem, it is possible to hope for a medal, and at all on one, but … In 1/8 endings the situation has changed radically. Worse than ever with Artemom Moiseenko Pavel Kuzmin has won back. That was to that the reason, not clearly, but game at the Russian sportsman obviously did not develop. Afterwards behind it Pavel Mehovov has left competition. However, unlike a floor-mat - ча Kuzmin-Moiseenko, in a meeting of Mehovov-Baklachjan to контровой parties it was not clear, who from players will pass in the following round. Having released Armand Baklachjana 5:1, Pavel could finish the account of a meeting to 5:5, but in контровой has missed the chance and has left a battle-field. In a system there was one Jury Pashchinsky which, judging by game, was in good shape and quite could apply for repetition of the success of 2005.

At women, for lack of the permanent leader of a command of Anna Mazhirinoj, game was not took at once. Business became complicated also that Anastas Luppova which by right could apply for the main title, has arrived on the championship, being prostu - женной. Certainly, illness never happens by the way, but the temperature 38 in days of the World championship is absolutely bad luck from a saying about the meanness law. And nevertheless Nastja left on start and in the first game even has overcome such serious competitor, as Alena Rusakova, dry, 3:0. But in the third circle absolutely расхворавшаяcя Nastja has said goodbye to hope of leadership, having lost to the Belarus sportswomen Violetta Klimovoj and Elena Bunos.

Obviously there was no game since first day at Olga Milovanovoj. It has conceded one for another two meetings, at first to Svetlana Maksimovoj (Azerbaijan), and then to Alena Rusakovoj, and villages on a bench. It is hardly better than the girlfriend on command you - Natalia Trofimenko has stepped. With Maryanna Gorelovoj she has won the first match, but Jeanne Shmatchenko and Tatyana Poltarzhinskajte have appeared to the Russian too hard and its tournament history has ended on approaches to олимпийке.

In a system there was only a debutant of the championship of Evgenie Zheldina. Having left in the bottom grid after loss to Ukrainian Olesya Bila, Eugene, nevertheless, could adjust game and in meetings with Maryanna Gorelovoj and Anna Petrjakovoj to be the confident leader. Zheldinoj and Alisa Loboda, and after it and Ljubov Parizher in a match for an exit in a semi-final has obeyed. For the debutant of the championship participation in a match for prize-winning places became tremendous success.

Houses and walls have not helped

Alexander Palamar long and persistently goes to a title of the world champion. All already is in its coin box: a repeated champion's title of Ukraine, two titles of the champion of Europe, even a world cup on the combined pyramid, victories in every possible a clod - мерческих tournaments and not to consider at all, and here the world champion's title all in any way is not given … In Ukraine to Palamar was the main favourite. And that to tell where still to win, how not houses? Alexander has confidently entered into 16 strongest. However, in 1/16 it the debutant of the championship Russian Andrey Frejze who in a match with the eminent contender kept quite adequately has thoroughly pulled about nerves and forced the opponent to be nervous, leaving on parties forward. However tournament experience of the similar plan to Andrey obviously has not sufficed, and it has conceded in контровой, and Palamar has passed in the following round. And here here with it there was an incident. In 1/8 endings it was confidently and easy beaten somehow by Auez Eljubaev from Kazakhstan. 4:0 in favour of Eljubaeva – such account flaunted on a board before a break. From rest the Ukrainian has come, thoroughly having become angry, and has tendered two parties. However east calmness has not left Eljubaeva, and it left in 1/8 with the account 6:2. To tell that Ukrainian bo - лельщики have been upset, means, to tell nothing …

And in 20 minutes Ukrainians were afflicted once again when Yaroslav Vino- of hens in контре has lost to Moldavian Andrey Larionov. Owners of tournament still had one hope – Jeanne Shmatchenko who could reach the final and should be overcome with Elena Bunos for the main title.

For a step to a victory

Often happens so that matches for you - a course in the ending appear more dramatically, than final. It is impossible to tell that so was on tournament in Kiev, but meetings 1/2 endings deserve separate conversation.

The semi-final Pashchinsky-baklachjan promised to be interesting and fighting. That it also has appeared as a result. The first party was won by the Armenian, then four took the Russian successively. Thus two of them Jury Pashchinsky has written down into the account after Armand Baklachjana's errors. Pashchinsky too committed errors in game, but Baklachjan, unlike the Russian, not always used it. However Armand nevertheless could make even the account. The destiny of the ending dared in контровой. In this party has become nervous already and Jury Pashchinsky, it gave to Armand chance twice, but of errors of contender Baklachjan has not taken advantage. As a result the first finalist was the Russian who has victoriously thrown up hands, having finished this most complicated party.

The second semi-final, appear, did not contain an intrigue. Kanybek Sagyndykov remains to one of the strongest players in Russian billiards, but last two years it does not show stability, and from its champion game of 2004 remains not so much. Kanybek Sagynbaev, on the contrary, on lifting. The World Cup on «the Combined pyramid», the World championship on "Dynamical" – everywhere it was in the ending. In the match beginning it seemed that Sagynbaeva cannot be stopped, the account has instantly reached to 4:1 in its advantage. But in the sixth party of the Kirghiz as though have changed. It was lost and began to make any not clear mistakes which caused bewilderment in spectators literally. Then again gathered and did a good series, but at midpoint did not hammer. Сагындыков slowly but surely caught up with the contender and eventually has won in контровой parties.

Female semi-finals were quite predicted. More skilled in the tournament plan both more titled Elena Bunos and Jeanne Shmatchenko have without effort got the best of Evgeniej Zheldinoj and Svetlana Maksimovoj.

There are new champions!

Final day of the championship has begun with the female ending in which met Elena Bunos and Jeanne Shmatchenko. Both finalists could apply for a victory. Elena Bunos at last has received chance to become the first. One year ago she has lost in the ending of the World championship to Anna Mazhirinoj, this year there was the second in the championship u1045 Europe. It unique of the strongest billiard-players while is bypassed by a high title of a champion's title. There was no the first and Jeanne Shmatchenko. The personal account of billiard-players showed that in last six meetings of Shmatchenko could not get the best of Bunos, but the situation in billiards varies often enough because in these sports the spirit is important. The Byelorussians supporting землячку, worried that Elena can break in the middle of party as it more than once happened to it. But опа a nose kept extremely confidently and easy and if did errors after them quickly took itself in hands and continued to play. And here Shmatchenko this day was obviously not in the plate, so, that at all did not take a break, having given to the competitor of two first of party. To take rest Jeanne has solved only at the account 4:0 in favour of Elena, but was already late. Belarus has received the first world champion on Russian billiards – Elena Bunos.

The beginning of the man's ending has been appointed on 15.00. Already for half an hour till this time Jury Pashchinsky was kneaded at a table. Its contender, Kanybek Sagyndykov, has appeared in a hall at 15.05. The Kazakhstan sportsman has not given explanations to the delay, has few times struck on spheres, and the match has begun.

Jury Pashchinsky, perhaps, unique of all billiard-players which stably enters into first ten and practically always occupies one of podium steps. During all World championship it showed excellent game that go - ворило about its good form and a correct psychological spirit. In the ending Jury has shown attacking, but at the same time prudent billiards. It beat true spheres, but also recouped, when it was necessary. However and Kanybek who did not shine recently on official tournaments, to this match, probably, was prepared not bad. Game went on "swing" as speak, sportsmen serially took away each other on party. All who was in a hall, agreed in opinion that such interesting match any more done not happen for a long time on official tournaments. The beautiful moments there was a set. Sometimes it seemed that the Russian is uncontrollable: Having made party with кия after robbery of Kanybeka, it has combined 8 spheres and from "giving", having made a series of 16 productive blows. Pashchinsky has walked on the contender as the tank. To it has not sufficed absolutely slightly to rise on the top step of a pedestal, but Jury defended the title more than adequately. However this time it was not possible to become the twice champion of the world to it. Well, it is possible to congratulate Kanybeka Sagyndykova on a rank of the three times champion of the world and to express hope that at Jury Pashchinskogo ahead still is a lot of tournaments, and there is every chance to rise on the top step of a podium of the World championship.

Evgenie Zheldina, bronze at зер the World championship:

– I think what to achieve such success in the World championship first in my life to me it was possible thanks to Konstantin Pavlovichu Krjukovu, the senior coach of the team. It is its belief in me has helped me to believe in itself. He constantly spoke to me – you can, and I could. Certainly, in respect of preparation for such tournaments still much does not suffice me, to sozhale - нию, at us in St.-Petersburg nobody is engaged in female billiards, but I consider that I have not bad acted. It would be desirable to test once again on such large tournament. Always it would be desirable something a pain - шего.

Elena Bunos, the world champion:

– I long went to this victory, at me now the whole complete set of medals of the World championship: "bronze", "silver" and "gold". I am happy with myself, at me all has turned out. To the first I have informed on a victory to trainer Alexander Zhilkinu, it too is very glad for me, too very much waited for this victory.

Ansar Karaneev, the president of republic Kazakhstan FBS: 

– Level of the organisation of this championship does not maintain any criticism. In a hall it is very cold, not to mention hotel. Many sportsmen were ill and have left ahead of time, including our girls. Sportsmen complain that hands freeze and it is impossible to play. And the most important thing, in a hall is not enough light also is very noisy. An illumination projector publish an unpleasant rumble which too does not allow to concentrate as it is necessary. It very badly influences many billiard-players. The judiciary board too does not work as it is necessary. The sportsmen, stopped to play earlier, are issued after those who has finished later. Under regulations, for example, Mudarisov should play two hours, Karaneev – in three, but for some reason them have changed in places and Karaneev has started to play earlier. All anything but to wait in a hall superfluous hour per such cold it is simply impossible. Plus to all because of a delay of flight we could not be present on a toss-up, and it has turned out so that already in the bottom grid our players have started to meet with each other. Organizers say that crops were made, but it seems to me, anybody sowed nobody. I in general wished to remove the player from a final meeting, and we left on game only because of respect for spectators. If we and spend further the championships we обвалим billiards and will lose all spectators.

Vladimir Nikiorov, vitse-prezid ент МПК:

– The ending was simply phenomenal. Children have shown magnificent game on eight spheres, plus tactical struggle. It has turned out so that Kanybek has appeared is more prepared for this moment, at these three o'clock which they played. I wish to give to children due that here they have found force and courage in these conditions, were mobilised and have not disappointed admirers of this fine game.

Konstantin Krjukov, the senior trainer of the Russian national team:

– I would tell so that напротяжение the third year the Russian team is in leaders. And we have got used to it and if slightly something is worse for us it is already bad. But we have already "bronze" and "silver", and it for lack of our leading sportswoman Mazhirinoj. Certainly, one player has got to the ending only, but all the others too have tried for the sake of it that have beaten out and have exhausted someone from serious contenders, they have cleared away a way to our finalist.
