Carrying out of the European championship of 2009 on снукеру is primary has been planned in Turkey. But Turks have refused to become owners of tournament. Poland having experience of the organisation of actions of such scale, has offered again the services, and the European championship started, as well as has been planned, on June, 5th, 2009. If in 2005 the European championship passed in a small place of Ostru Velkopolski that in 6 hours' journey from Warsaw this time sportsmen were accepted by ancient and very beautiful city of Lublin.

As well as last time, the place of carrying out of tournament had been chose a sports complex: 20 снукерных tables have been established on a playground «Sports the Hall« the Globe »». That is interesting, only this match in 1/4 had persistent character – other three have ended with the account 5:0, and in semi-finals have met Daren Morgan (Wales) – Krejg Stedman (England) and Andrew Padzhet (Wales) – David Grejs (England). If to take into account quantity of breaks more than 50, made players on tournament, it was possible to predict participants of a semi-final with absolute accuracy: on Morgan's account and their Stedmana was on 17, at Grejsa – 15, and at Padzheta – 11. Except it Patrick Ensle from Germany had 11 breaks only, but he has lost in 1/8 endings to Morgan …
Mathematics mathematics, but semi-finals have passed in persistent struggle - 3:6 and 4:6, English fans celebrate a victory – in the ending both their representatives. Women

23 women have taken part in struggle for a rank of the champion of Europe. For the first time Ukraine has sent the sportswoman, from Czechia after some break, two participants played. (In absence of Belgian Vendi Jans) a tournament favourite inimitable Englishwoman Rin Evans was indisputable. Games in subgroups had very persistent character, women struggled for each sphere, for each point. In many meetings at all there was no game time of round to finish a match, and it was necessary to wait, while tables will be released.
Anna Mazhirina only in last match with Tatyana Vasilevoj from Latvia, having won 2 frames from 5, has solved an exit problem in 1/8 endings, having outstripped the competitors on a difference of the won and lost frames. Svetlana Harlova in the subgroup has bypassed two mistresses of tournament and for the first time left in number 16 of the best.
But struggle for an exit in the following stage in a subgroup where Olga Zhuravlyov played was the most dramatic. 3 sportswomen applied for two remained vacant places in 1/8 endings: Olga had in an active two victories, a difference of frames 7:7, as much victories at the Frenchwoman Delfin Morel at a difference 6:7, one victory at the sportswoman from Latvia Dianas Bukinoj. Diana, quickly having understood with the outsider of group, with result two victories and a difference in frames 7:9 has left on a tribune to observe of Olga's game and the Dolphin.
At this time position by Zhuravlevoj seemed critical – she lost 0:2 in a match to three victories and in the third frame 43:49. On a table – only dark blue, pink and black spheres... Masters

In absence of permanent champion Darena Morgan other representatives of veteran movement снукера had a real possibility to win, at last, this title. Among applicants there was also one representative of Russia – Alexey Goldobin. Only the experience lack has not allowed Alexey to gain more than one victory and to enter into number 32 of the best.
Unexpectedness on tournament practically was not, short of loss of the representative of the Wales (четвертьфиналиста the last World championship) John Terri to the German to Norman Kaunteru in 1/16 endings with the account 2:3 and good game of Scot Stephen Bailey, 23rd number from 32 best. It has consistently beaten out from tournament of 10th and 7th сеяных players, and only in ending m has lost in last frame to Irish Stephen Merriganu. Besides this match in 1/4 endings the match of Englishman Alan Trigga and уэльсца Phillip Williams, come to the end with the account 5:4 was worthy. Only veteran Kiren MakMaan had possibility to take away one of titles to Northern Ireland. However enormous experience of Trigga has not allowed it to make it – 6:4. And the third rank of the champion of Europe at Englishmen.
