The more close the tournament ending, the struggle became more intense. In 1/8 endings from sixteen sportsmen was six Kazakhstan players, 5 Russian, two Ukrainians, the Turkman and the Azerbaijanian. The grid has combined 5 Russian-Kazakh steams. Fastest game was left by Dmitry Baev who has promptly lost to Alihanu Karaneevu 6:2. Vladimir Vajntsvajg, the winner of the last year's championship of Asia, has easily enough beaten Nurkena Sujkembaeva.

The semi-final of the championship of Asia was half Russian: Vladimir Vajntsvajg and Daniel Bogushevsky played for an exit in the ending with Alihanom Karaneevym and Alexander Palamarem accordingly. Such alignment of forces already guaranteed Russia at least "bronze".

After a while it was found out that in a coin box of Russia one more "bronze" has fallen: Vladimir Vajntsvajg has lost Alihanu Karaneevu (6:2).
