The first stage of the Open Cup of Siberia among women on «the Free pyramid» has symbolically coincided with the beginning of the most romantic season – spring. Naturally, organizers of tournament could not disregard this fact – at competition opening in hands twenty participants had flowers. However representatives of 10 Siberian cities have gathered in billiard club "Space" not to enjoy aromas of spring colours. The title of the best billiard-player of Siberia and given by the general sponsor - Factory "Start" - a prize fund of 60 000 roubles was an overall objective of girls.

Olga Muhortova (Novosibirsk) was the main favourite of tournament, according to many, the master of sports. From first day of competitions she has let know at once that is not going to allow to leave to a cup of the winner capital of Siberia. However in struggle for an exit in 1/8 Olga hardly was has not withdrawn. Its competitor Moldovanova has initially moved 2:0, but Muhortova has managed to cope with excitement, to make even the account and finally to finish party to own advantage.

Olga Muhortovoj's final duel with Elena Stasevich (Kemerovo) kept fans in suspense to контровой.
